Back pressure valve is a spring loaded non return valve fitted at the end of the evaporator whose temperature is set higher in a multi room fridge system
. Function:
1. Create equlibrium of the system so that pressure of the gas at each compartmental exit vary.
2. Creates a back pressure on the evaporator coil so that no liquid leaves evaporator.
3. Makes sure that most of the liquid refrigerant is available to compartment with lesser temperature setting ( fluid always follow least resistant path, back- pressure valves put resistance in easier path so refrigerant exits always through the evaporator of the coldest room.)
