How to test the working of salinometer ?

Using a testing resistor to check salinity:
Disconnect the probes and attach a spare resistor it should show a mentioned value in the salinometer (1.8 K
ohms= 50ppm) .And it should also initiate an alarm.
Full scale check:
short circuit the probes- it should show maximum value in salinometer and alarm should initiate.
