Need for double volute casing and diffuser ring

A double volute casing to provide a rotational balance and this reduces wear on radial bearings.A diffuser ring is fitted to high-pressure centrifugal pumps to covert the kinetic energy into pressure, this ring is fixed in the casing around the impeller in such a way that passages are formed around the vanes.
